Jimmy Buffett has never charted a No. 1 single or won a major music award except for his duet with Alan Jackson on "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" which won him a country music awards honor in 2003. Jimmy was born on 12/26/1946 in Pascagoula, MS and raised in Mobile, AL. Buffett says that most of his songs come from the heart and are 90% biographical, which is shown to be true in many of his songs about liquor, women and his grandfather in son of a son of a sailor. After early failings as a recording artist, while Buffett worked at billboard magazine he finally broke through Buffett's 1974 album, A1A, named after a small road near the beach in Florida sold fairly well and was used in a popular movie called "Rancho Deluxe". In 1975, Buffett assembled The Coral Reefer Band and produced the album Havana Daydreaming which was mildy successful. However, the next year Jimmy and the band released Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes which featured the smash hit, Margaritaville which rose to the top of the Billboard concert charts and turned Buffett from a unique country/reggae/rock artist in to a top selling pop artist or who could easily sell out concerts and sell millions of albums. |
PNC Park seating for Jimmy Buffett Buffett will be performing in Pittsburgh and at the PNC Park for the first time since last years sold out performance at the Post Gazette Pavilion however this will be the first time Jimmy has performed at a baseball stadium other then Fenway Park (last year also) and this year's Citizen's Bank Park shows, and the first time he has performed at such a big venue in the Pittsburgh area. Not only will Jimmy Buffett pittsburgh concert be very popular but it is sure to be a sell out.
